ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan declared March 23 as the day for the country to reaffirm its commitment to the ideals of justice and equality, which were the true purpose of Pakistan’s inception.
On March 23, he remarked in a statement commemorating Pakistan Day, “Today, we pay respect to the Father of the Nation and all the leaders of the Freedom Movement who fought for the nation’s unity through their unmatched sacrifices.” It is critical for our young people to understand that Pakistan was founded on the basis of a lengthy democratic fight and that the key to its stability and prosperity today lies in hard work, honesty, and morality. “
“As we commemorate this day, we must uphold the Quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s values of Unity, Faith, and Discipline and renew our commitment to developing Pakistan as a genuinely democratic welfare state on the model of Riyasat-e-Madina. On this day, it is appropriate to reflect on the challenges we face as a country. Our government has implemented long-term reforms and measures aimed at reducing poverty and advancing justice. Our emphasis will continue to be on the most disenfranchised parts of society, providing them with equal chances. The Kamyab Pakistan Program generates enormous economic advantages for youth, farmers, small businesses, and low-cost housing. Our flagship Qaumi Sehat Card plan would provide universal health care to all residents, a feat unique in our country’s history. “
“We are now on the verge of reclaiming our former glory, which was squandered by previous regimes that prioritised self-interest over national interest and the welfare of the people. The fight to get rid of corruption and raise moral standards will need the same tenacity that our forefathers used to fight for independence, he said.
The Prime Minister concluded by begging the Almighty Allah to grant us the fortitude to continue in the footsteps of our forebears.
