Pak vs Aus: David Warner is optimistic about the Karachi Test.

After a draw on a friendly surface in Rawalpindi, Australian opener David Warner is hoping for a result-producing pitch in the Karachi Test against Pakistan.

Warner said in an online news conference that he would want to see a wicket that allows teams to produce 20 chances throughout a match and provide fantastic entertainment for the audience.

From a batter’s perspective, you may roll the same one as in Islamabad and hope I am not out, but that is not what we want. From a cricketing standpoint you obviously want something to break up the innings, something for the spinners, something a little bit more. I’m not sure what we’re expecting in Karachi until we see the wicket, but I just want a game where you can create 20 chances, something that’s exciting and entertaining for the crowd, “he said.

To make things even more exciting for Pakistan, the series will be decided in Karachi’s National Stadium, which has been home to 23 of the 43 Tests that Pakistan has won and only lost twice.

“It‘s going to be a range of problems; clearly, our arrival here is unknown. We have no idea what to anticipate since we did not play a warm-up game. We were essentially thrust into practicing on moving wickets, and then out in the middle, it was rather flat and offered nothing, “he said of the conditions.

What will the final XI look like?

A decision on a final XI would only be made after the team and tour management saw the Karachi pitch.

In response to a query, the 35-year-old lauded Rawalpindi’s supporters.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this facility; it’s incredible. From the hotel, you can see the mountains in the backdrop; you can also view them from the ground. The people were just incredible; they cheered not only for Pakistan, but also for us. I believe people would be ecstatic that cricket has returned to Pakistan,” he remarked of his experience in Islamabad and Rawalpindi for the first Test.

Obviously, there are a lot of people to credit for getting this trip up and running-Cricket Australia, the PCB, the military and the police force for ensuring the tour’s safety and security, which we commend. And we are really appreciative of this chance, “Warner said.

Regarding fans

Since he moved to Pakistan, the well-known cricketer has become one of the most popular Australians because of his antics on and off the field and on social media, which make him fun to watch.

In terms of interacting with Pakistani fans, Warner said that supporters are an integral part of the game and it is critical to keep them involved throughout the games.

I like involving everyone and energizing the audience, which is something I’ve always tried to do. I interact with the fans because they are the most essential part of our game; they come and support us, we do our best to provide entertainment whenever possible, and I like getting engaged,” he stated.

And, of course, this is the first time, obviously, for me over here; we’ve been here for over two decades, and I believe it’s important to communicate with the fans, not only from a cricketing standpoint but from our vantage point. They follow us on Instagram, they come out to support us on the ground. And it’s critical that we give back, “the Australian cricketer said.

Will Warner take part in the PSL?

He has, however, said that he has no plans to play in the Pakistan Super League right now because his normal schedule conflicts with Australia’s international schedule, which makes it impossible for him to come and play.

A Shane Warne Tribute

Warner also paid respect to his hero, Shane Warne, who died last week, and expressed his shock at the news.

He said that he would make an attempt to go to Melbourne for Warne’s memorial rites.

“When we initially learned, we dismissed it as a joke, as if it hadn’t sunk in at all, and it still hasn’t,” he said.

As a child, I hung his image on my wall; I aspired to be like Shane and began my career pitching leg-spin and hitting in the middle order. I adored him. He’s such a likeable character. And Australia is clearly worse off as a result of his departure, “Warner said.
