On April Fools’ Day, Twitter tweets about the long-awaited ‘edit’ function.

(Reuters) When Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) sent a message on April Fools’ Day, it said that it was working on an “edit” button, which made people laugh and cry.

In response to a question about whether the tweet was a joke, Twitter said in a statement, “We cannot confirm or deny. However, we reserve the right to change our statement later.”

Certain commentators lauded it.

Some found it amusing.

Others, though, did not.

Dictionary.com’s verified account tweeted a link to the “Definition of unfunny.”
