LAHORE: The Punjab Chief Minister has ordered that those who overcharged at Murree hotels be prosecuted.
Usman Bazdar, the Commissioner of Rawalpindi, has been asked to take non-discriminatory action against overcharging hotels.
Overcharging, according to the Chief Minister, is not a business but more akin to stealing, which is not accepted at all.
All main roadways should be clear.
The spokesman for the traffic police, on the other hand, stated that all of Murree’s major roadways had been cleared for traffic. The cops remained on the scene for 72 hours to assist the visitors and clear the road.
According to the spokesman, the route from Jhikaagli to Lower Topa and Lawrence College has been cleared of snow, as has the road from Jhikaagli to Kaldana and Kaldana to Barian.
The owners were jumping, according to the spokesperson, once the vehicles stranded in the snow were moved to a safe location.
The official said that all tourist gates to Murree are blocked until 9 p.m. tonight.
It may be remembered that the situation in Murree had deteriorated owing to severe snowfall and a tourist rush, and that the tourist destination was proclaimed a catastrophe and an emergency was declared when more than 20 people died in their automobiles.
