Berlin: Mercedes-Benz and Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced a partnership on Wednesday. The partnership will use the Microsoft Cloud to create a data platform that will help improve production efficiency at over 30 passenger car plants around the world.
The MO360 Data Platform is already available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It will also be available in the U.S. and China, according to the statement.
The goal is to collect data from all parts of the production process, from parts to logistics to the assembly line, so that a virtual copy can be made. This will help teams find potential supply chain bottlenecks faster.
The collaboration should make it 20% more efficient to make cars by 2025 compared to 2022, the statement said.
