Instagram’s Boomerang and Hyperlapse applications have been removed from the Google and Apple app stores.
Instagram, which is owned by Meta, has deleted standalone applications Boomerang and Hyperlapse from Google Apps and the iOS App Store, according to CNET.
Following the demise of the IGTV feature in mid-March, Instagram’s parent company, Meta, quietly shut down both separate applications in order to concentrate more on the main app. Both functionalities remain accessible through the main app. According to a meta spokesman, they will continue to work to make Instagram more enjoyable for consumers.
Instagram has always prioritised features that render many other programmes obsolete. Options for photo editing and IG reels are two examples of such tools. This phase is similar to what Facebook did before by combining numerous services, such as its own payment system and virtual shopping mall, into a single app.
Despite the fact that Hyperlapse was accessible only on iOS, it surpassed 23 million downloads. Surprisingly, despite the fact that Instagram already has all of the capabilities, the Boomerang app has been downloaded by over 26,000 users.
