During an interview at the Bitcoin Amsterdam Conference on October 13, British journalist and former politician Nigel Farage talked about all of Bitcoin’s benefits.
Farage calls Bitcoin a “economic uprising” and says the following:
People who run it are worried about how big the government is, and they want to be free, independent, and in charge of their own lives. To me, this seems like a natural place to be.
Farage thought that the Bitcoin movement was “a natural place for him to be” because it was similar to what he did in the past when he supported cryptocurrency.
As Farage talked about freedom and liberties, he kept making connections between his time leading the Brexit movement and the fast-growing technology of today. Farage says that the fact that bureaucrats steer the EU boat doesn’t give him a good impression of the union, especially when it comes to the EU Commission and how it works with lawmakers.
At the same time, many world leaders are probably thinking about CBDCs because they don’t understand them. He said this is one of his biggest fears because he thinks the idea could take away people’s financial freedom.
