In a recent series of tweets, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, trashed Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, which cost $1 billion to make.

On Monday, the billionaire went on Twitter to say that he didn’t like the show, which had the biggest premiere in Prime Video’s history, with 25 million people watching.

Musk wrote that the late author of the series, J.R.R. Tolkien, was turning over in his grave. “So far, almost all of the male characters are cowards, jerks, or both. He also said, “Only Galadriel is brave, smart, and kind.”

After Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’s Blue Origin competed in the space business, Musk’s company seems to be a way for him to compete with Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos.
The logline for Rings of Power says that it takes place “thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.” It will take viewers back to a time when “great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the thinnest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever came out of Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover the whole world in darkness.”
