Dar accuses PTI for the country’s worst economy, but vows to bring it back

ISLAMABAD Ishaq Dar, who was just sworn in as Federal Minister, said on Wednesday that he would work to get the economy going again.

In a meeting with the media in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that the government’s top priorities are to stabilise the local currency and bring down inflation and interest rates. He said that we don’t trust just words, but that history shows how well our economy has done.

Ishaq Dar was happy that the rupee has gone up in value over the last two days. He said that this has made our loans smaller.

The Federal Minister said that the country is going through the worst economic crisis ever because the previous PTI government did a bad job of running the economy. He said that the country didn’t go into default because former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail did what he could to help. He did say, though, that the mess the PTI government made couldn’t be fixed in six months.

Ishaq Dar was upset that the PTI government broke international agreements in its last days in office to get political points.

Ishaq Dar said that the case against him is made up. He said that for the past 34 years, he has always paid his taxes on time and has never been late with his tax returns. He said that the previous government had also taken away his passport, and the current coalition government was the one that gave him a new one.
