Competitor Asda acquires the petrol forecourt business from Britain’s Co-Op.

LONDON The Co-Operative Group said on Wednesday that it has agreed to sell its estate of 129 fuel forecourts to supermarket rival Asda for £600 million ($700 million).

The cooperatively owned Co-Op said it will use the money from the sale to invest in its main business, which is a convenience store, and to pay down its net debt.
$1 equals 0.8561 pounds.
