CNN reported, citing two sources, in Washington. Giuliani, who was the personal lawyer for former U.S. President Donald Trump, met with the House committee looking into the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, for more than nine hours on Friday, CNN said.
His lawyer, Robert Costello, said earlier this month that Giuliani, a former mayor of New York City, had refused to appear before the panel unless his testimony was recorded on video. At the time, the committee said that Giuliani had agreed to an interview that would be written down.
Reuters asked Costello and the committee to comment on the CNN report, but neither of them did so right away.
The committee is trying to find out what Trump did when thousands of his supporters stormed the Capitol in January of last year, sending members of Congress and then-Vice President Mike Pence running for cover.
Congress was meeting to certify that Democrat Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election against Republican Donald Trump.
In the investigation, the committee has talked to more than 900 people, including many Trump White House staffers.
CNN says that Giuliani will meet with a U.S. House panel on January 6.
