Pakistan is currently going through one of the biggest challenges it has had since the inception of the country and while Covid-19 has led to much fear and discouragement among the public, there are still those who are trying to combine technology and knowledge across the country to make sure we fight this war in the most powerful way possible.
Along with our health care workers, law enforcement, our sanitation workers, and all other Pakistanis who work to provide essential services to the community, the youth of the country and its students are also far behind, some of whom are quick and helpful, some of which can be started at a low cost. together scientists, to consolidate efforts
One of these platforms is a group of over 3000+ young scientists from all over Pakistan who are united in a virtual network called Scientists Against COVID-19 Pakistan (SACP-19). There are a surprising number of people ready to volunteer and help with this effort, ”says Mohammad Ismail, a 25-year bio-technology expert who started the platform with people like Pilawar-based physiology-Adil Salim, Karachi-based physiologist Sadia Khalil and Lahore-based medical doctor Maryam Ahmed last week. “We want universities and laboratories in Pakistan to donate their equipment for use in expanding the tests. This is something that has already happened in the US,” Ismail said. However, he added, there is a “connection” between the various sectors in Pakistan which makes implementing such ideas a challenge here.
