Bilawal threatens to use a protracted march to’shake’ the PTI-led government

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Monday that his party never left the field open for the governing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and threatened to destabilise the government with a protracted march beginning February 27 in Karachi.

In a speech to a convention in Peshawar, Bilawal underlined that his party is fighting for the rights of the public and that they would only use constitutional means to depose the PTI administration.

He reiterated that the PPP would battle political opponents democratically, adding that the lengthy march will be undertaken to inflict harm on the ‘puppet government.’

Referring to opposition groups, he noted that although friends asked them to resign from assembly, the PPP convinced them to contest elections against the incumbent party.

He said that the PTI-led government delivered nothing but damage during its three years in office, noting that Transparency International (TI) has labelled the existing administration to be the most corrupt.

He said that the PPP supports the initiation of a no-confidence motion against [Prime Minister Imran Khan], adding that those who were previously opposed to the measure are now coming on ‘one-page’.

He continued by stating that Imran Khan used to brag a lot but was always making ‘U-turns’. Bilawal alleged that the premier did not respond to any of their National Assembly inquiries (NA).
