Australia stocks down at the closing of trade. S&P/ASX down 1.40 percent

Australia shares fell after the close of Monday, because of loss in Metals, Materials and Energy sectors pushed shares lower.

In the closing of Sydney at the close of Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 was down 1.40 percent..

The most successful performers of today’s session of the S&P/ASX 200 were Nuix Ltd (ASX: NXL) that gained 4.17 percent which is 0.03 points and traded with a price of 0.62 at the closing. In the meantime, EML Payments Ltd (ASX: EML) increased 3.76 percent (or 0.03 points to close in 0.69 in the closing. News Corp B DRC (ASX: NWS) gained 3.63 percent (or 0.94 percentage points, to 26.84 in late trading.

The worst performers during the session was Adbri Ltd (ASX: ABC) which dropped 22.01 percent which is 0.41 points and traded with a price of 1.43 at the end of the session. Costa Group Holdings Ltd (ASX: CGC) decreased 13.42 percent (or 0.31 points to finish with 2.00 as well St Barbara Ltd (ASX: SBM) was down 8.22 percent which is 0.06 points , to 0.67.

Stocks that fell were more numerous than those that grew in the Sydney Stock Exchange by 852 to 423; 369 ended in the same position.

Shares of Adbri Ltd (ASX: ABC) declined to five-year lows, losing 22.01 percent (or 0.41 in the range of 1.43. Shares of Costa Group Holdings Ltd (ASX: CGC) dropped to five-year lows and were down 13.42 percent, (or 0.31 from 2.00. Shares of St Barbara Ltd (ASX: SBM) dropped to 5-year lows, losing 8.22 percent which is 0.06 in the range of 0.06 to 0.67.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX is a measure of the volatility implied by the S&P/ASX 200 options, increased by 4.78 percent to 19.57.

Gold Futures for delivery in December were in the red by 0.64 percent (or 10.55 to $1,659.45 one troy ounce. In other commodities markets the delivery of Crude oil in December climbed 1.06 percent or 0.90 to reach $85.55 per barrel, and it was the same for the month of December. Brent oil contract increased 1.10 percent or 1.01 to reach $92.64 one barrel.

The exchange rate of AUD/USD rose 0.82 percent to 0.62 and AUD/JPY gained 0.71 percent to 92.81.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37 percent to 112.79.
