After winning the Bengaluru Test, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have joined the MI camp.

Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah joined the MI camp immediately after the Bengaluru Test triumph.

Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have joined the Mumbai Indians camp ahead of the IPL 2022 season, which begins on March 26. The pair joined the MI camp barely hours after India defeated Sri Lanka by 238 runs in the pink ball Test at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

For both of them, it was a memorable game. While this was Rohit’s first Test assignment as the Indian team’s full-time captain, Bumrah took his first red-ball fifer at home and also tied the record of famous all-rounder Kapil Dev’s eight five-wicket hauls in 29 Tests.

In a video uploaded on social media by the franchise, both the Mumbai Indians captain and pace spearhead are seen entering the team hotel in a video. Bumrah was alone as he entered the grounds and promptly proceeded to his hotel room. Meanwhile, the hitman and his family had arrived, including better half Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira. Besides that, the powerful opener can be seen cradling Samaira in his arms as he looks at a picture of MI’s five IPL victories at the team hotel.

Former champions Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah were retained months ahead of the IPL 2022 super auction, as were Indian limited-overs batting star Suryakumar Yadav and Caribbean power-hitter Kieron Pollard. Sharma was given INR 16 crore, while the elite speedster received INR 12 crore.

After making many additions during last month’s two-day mega event in Bengaluru, a resurgent Mumbai Indians will now attempt to maximize the potential of their rebuilt team as they chase a record sixth IPL title. Following back-to-back IPL wins in 2019 and 2020, the Rohit Sharma-led squad sought to create history by becoming the first team to capture a hat-trick of IPL titles.

Despite this, they finished fifth in the points system after a dismal performance in the second leg of the IPL 2021. The Mumbai Indians will be aiming for a turnaround in fortunes this time. The five-time champions will open their IPL 2022 campaign against the Delhi Capitals on March 27 at the Brabourne Stadium.
