China’s market regulator said on Thursday that Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) will recall 435,132 Model 3 and Model Y cars made in China because of software problems.
According to a statement from the State Administration for Market Regulator, the U.S. automaker will recall 142,277 Model 3 cars and 292,855 Model Y cars because the clearance lamps in some of these cars might not work because of software bugs. This could cause a crash in extreme cases.

The regulator said that to fix the problems, Tesla will use what are called “over-the-air” technologies to update the software in the cars from afar.
