Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan stated on Tuesday that South Punjab has historically suffered owing to injustice and has been denied its fair share of employment and budgets.
He was speaking at an event to mark the introduction of the Sehat Insaf Card in the Bahawalpur division. Following the launch of Sehat Insaf Cards in other areas of Punjab, the government has released Sehat Insaf Cards for 15 million people in the division’s Bahawalpur district, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalnagar.
Under the initiative, each family in the division would be eligible for health insurance worth up to Rs 1 million per year at public and private institutions.
For the first time, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government is spending money on South Punjab. He noted that the inhabitants of the region did not receive their fair share of employment and finances based on population.

He promised to return to the region for the launching of the South Punjab Secretariat the following time.
The Punjab government, according to the premier, is spending Rs400 billion on the health card. He wondered, “How can someone who is being treated in a foreign nation think of the poor?” he wondered.
“We will not have enough money in the next five years to develop hospitals for everyone,” Prime Minister Khan stated. He also stated that the private sector will develop healthcare facilities in small towns and rural regions, where individuals will be able to receive free treatment using the Sehat Insaf Card.
According to him, the World Bank ranked the government’s Ehsaas programme as the fourth-best global social protection mechanism in the world.
