The Aave community has overwhelmingly supported a proposal for the deployment of the decentralized exchange (DEX) Aave on the zkSync Era Mainnet through a “temperature check” vote.
More than 99% of Aave token holders voted in favor of launching the third version of the lending and borrowing protocol on the zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM), limited to USD Coin and Ether.
The next steps in the proposal involve further discussion, risk parameter evaluation, and finalization, followed by voting and on-chain governance approval.
The deployment on zkSync is expected to attract new users to DeFi and establish Aave as a top borrowing platform in the zero-knowledge ecosystem.
The Aave community had previously voted to deploy the Aave V3 codebase on zkSync’s v2 Testnet, and the Uniswap DEX is also expected to launch on the zkEVM solution from scaling solution provider Polygon. In November 2022, Aave changed its governance procedures after a $60 million short attack, which was unsuccessful.
