Senior leaders from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation met in Jeddah.

JEDDAH: On Monday, top officials from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) began a preparation meeting for the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, which is slated to take place in Islamabad in March 2022, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.

At the opening session, the Republic of Niger handed over the chair to Pakistan.

OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha praised the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its unwavering support of the organization and its member states, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness, Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Al Saud, the Crown Prince.

He also praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts and endeavours in its position as chair of the 14th Islamic Summit.

Taha commended Pakistan on assuming the chair of the 48th session of the CFM, as well as the Republic of Niger on its successful chairing of the 47th session of the CFM.

The OIC secretary general highlighted recent developments in several member countries, as well as the key subjects on the meeting’s agenda.
